The Innovation Journey
Eighteen years ago, I innovated the casting market by starting the first-ever selftape studio. At the time, it was cutting edge and fresh. Fast forward to today, and the market has matured. My studio has been copied over and over again—it has led by example. As the New York Times says, I am the Godfather of the selftape industry.
The Choice
I've reached that inflection point where I could focus on franchising, but that just means I end up spending my time on quality control. Knowing myself, I choose a different path. I want to continue to innovate, as one should always do.
Strategic Life Partnership
This was always part of a bigger life plan. My wife's career at Netflix has really taken off—she is now Global Head of Talent Acquisition. As she has grown, I had the passive revenue stream with the studio and staff, so I stepped back to raise the girls and let her continue to shine. Now that she is crushing it, and my oldest just started Pre-K, I am at the point in the plan where I get to continue to enhance my resume and get back to continuing to innovate at the bleeding edge.

Throughout my career, I've been the one funding and driving various teams and projects that have continued to innovate the digital and social media environments. I have been the teacher to my staff and clients. Now I am actively surrounding myself with other innovating leaders who are pushing the next generation of innovative entertainment and workflows. I'm engaged in multiple masterminds, continuously learning and collaborating with forward-thinking industry pioneers.
I have always pursued higher education and am at a point where I want to continue to learn from the best.
